When you are so determined to achieve what, you want, nothing is too difficult! As we start this New Year, I am pleased to inspire you to keep holding to your dreams and aspirations. Here are the three key factors to break your Superlative Goals into simple steps and achieve them.

 

1.Patience

Patience is a Virtue. Yes, we all know it and yet we fail to practice patience in life. Today’s life is called as the “Instant Life”. We need instant relief from pain, we want to instantly burn body fat, we want instant Noodles, Instant Coffee, instant mobile Charging and what not? There is no room for Patience in our expectations from life.

We can’t wait to finish high school, can’t wait to get our first job, can’t wait to get married, can’t wait to get promoted as a Manager, can’t wat to buy our new phone, bike, car and more. The more we fail to wait, the more we miss to enjoy our current situation. Before we die, we need to live life! Take a break and think – “Where are we heading to?”. Let me break the harsh truth politely. We are travelling towards death. A very profound statement – isn’t it? Yes – Life, is a Journey by itself. This is such a temporary place for us and if you and I fail to live, laugh and love each day, we would miserably fail to live life and only exist like zombies. It is funny that some people don’t even have the Patience to read through this passage called Patience J But I’m glad you did! So what’s the big deal with having patience? Here are the hidden benefits of practicing Patience…

When you wait patiently for something to happen, you realize why you need it and will prepare yourself to be deserving too. It could be Marriage, Promotion, Valuable Purchase and even the gift of Parenthood. Patience Reveals your true character and intention behind what you want.

 

When you wait more and more, it becomes less of you and more of God. Because you realize there is very little you can do and leave more space for God to perform miracles. And yes, you would stop complaining and not feel Stressful about Life. Because God is in Control!

2.Perseverance

Try, Try and Try again. We keep offering such free advice to people and miserably fail to follow it ourselves. Defeat is not when you lose. Defeat when you fail to get back up and try again. Life is not to live without defeats. It is to learn from your mistakes and get back on track to achieve your Dreams. Leaders will find opportunities in every problem and losers will find problems in every opportunity. What are you finding in your Life each day? Knock and it shall be opened to you; ask and it shall be given to you. You just need to keep knocking at different doors and keep asking different people till you find the right door and the right person – That’s Perseverance. Leave no stone unturned! Keep Persevering until people around you point at you as an example of Perseverance. Superlative Goals cannot be achieved without Perseverance. In life when you fall, you learn how to get up! So, dust up your past and keep moving, keep pressing on, keep persevering. One day you will thank yourself for pushing harder to be what you never thought you would be.  

3.Passion

Do what you Love and Love and What you do. Passion is the key to Self-Mastery. There is a famous statement and it goes like this – “Don’t do ten thousand things five times; Do five things, ten thousand times”. We all have the habit of doing the former that the later. Let’s not be scattered in applying our talents to be the jack of all trades. We need to focus our talents on worthwhile Goals, have patience and persevere with great passion. That’s how we can march towards Mastery and Excellence. I have heard great men say – “Good is the enemy of Excellence”. Yes, such excellence is possible only through Passion. Passion is simply taking your first step and then making every step your first step J  It is the process of losing yourself to what you want to achieve with involvement and commitment. It is dedicating yourself to be all that you can be and still love doing it. Passion can chase boredom and monotony out of your life. It can ignite you and re-energize you every time you do something. With Passion, instead of going through situations, you will grow through situations.

I wish this year, you will achieve superlative Goals through Patience, Perseverance and Passion!

There are many things we can do to win in Life. Here is a very practical three step process to create a Life, full of Victory.

1. Dare

Dare! A Daring attitude will take you places in life. In other words you can call it boldness or Courage. Different people define Daring in different styles. For some, it could be exploring a new Country all alone. For some, it could be ready to fight for the right and the list goes on. But my definition of Dare is “Doing what you Love”. What is the biggest fear of all of humanity? We may think it is death, failure, rejection, etc. But if you dig deep into all those thoughts, you’ll find it is the fear of people. It is not just “What others will talk about me” but goes further to a point of “What others will think of me”. This is nothing new, but I’m inviting you to give your serious attention to this fear of looking good. If only you overcome this fear, will you be able to be the real you! Trust me on this, it’s not all that fun to lose your originality for others and eventually lose your satisfaction in Life. There is a famous line and it goes like this “When was the last time, you did something for the first time?” Our life has a routine and we pretty much re-do and re-live our yesterdays, past weeks, months and years. So where is the thrill, joy and fun of doing something absolutely new and seeking a different experience in Life? MY intention here is not to make you break your regular routine, instead dare to do creative things within your routine to make life interesting. The fulfilment of Life lies in the crazy things that we do in your regular routine. Most of our time is spent at our Work place and dwelling place. So begin with doing daring things at your work or School or College and then at home as well. Think of those new things you wanted to do, the skills you wanted to develop, giving it a shot during the Cultural to perform your heart out, try cooking, learn to drive and the list goes on. Never miss out on any opportunity. Some people wait for the Opportunity and some people Create it. Be the ones who create chances to exercise Courage in Life. You will be amazed to see and witness for yourself the talents that have been hidden in you.

I am reminded of this Child hood story I listened to during a Sermon. It’s about a Father, Son and a Donkey. They were travelling to their destination. In the first city, people commented “Look at these people. They are not good in Management. Donkey is a resource and it is not carrying anything on it. Recourse under Utilized!” The Father felt so bad and sat on the Donkey. As they moved forward, people in the next City commented “Look at this Man. He is making his poor Child walk and happily sitting on the Donkey.” The Father was disheartened and made his Son sit on the donkey and he walked. As you rightly guessed, people in the next City commented “Look at this naughty boy who doesn’t respect and honour his Father….Both of them sat on the Donkey… In the nest City, People said “Oh Poor Donkey. How Cruel these people are”… And then both of them carried the Donkey and walked… It is anever ending story. But the moral here is “You can never stop people from critisizing you”. Someone or the other is always there to say something about whatever you do. No matter how best you win or how bad you lose. You’ve got to put up with this. As you see in the Cricket matches only 11+11 players along with the refereesplay the game and you have thousands of people enjoying watching from the stadium. Same way in the Game of your life, the Players are only in numbers but the spectators are in multitudes. You really can’t stop by and listen to each and every comment that is being passed. As long as what you do doesn’t hurt anyone just do it and feel the magic of Life.

 

2. Differ

The Second most important tool for a Victorious living is differentiating yourself. Don’t always try to fit it. Don’t always follow the masses. Be unique. Stand for what you believe and be excellent in it. Find your best talents. Many people struggle to find their strengths. It could be simply because they don’t Dare in life. When you don’t attempt new things, how will be you be able to unleash yourself in a new way? Find your best talents and use them to make a difference in others’ lives. Have you ever wondered why some people work like Crazy for their Companies? The key factor here is “They know what their strengths are and they know that those strengths are being used to contribute towardsthe growth of the Company”. Maslow calls this state as the “Self Actualization State”-Finding your true potential and being the best you can be. Whereas the less involved employees either have not found their strengths or do not use their strengths to make a difference in their work place. The one question every person has to ask is “What do I bring to the table?” If tomorrow you don’t go to your work place or institution, what will people miss out? The better the answer is the grater the difference you are making there!  

3. Dream

Dr.A.P.J. Abdul Kalam said “Dream is not something that comes when you sleep, but Dream is something that will not let you sleep”. It is your right to Dream and duty to Dream. The Dreams you Dream will define the Destiny of your Life. If you find a person who enters the bus stand, randomly chooses a bus and says to the conductor “Just get me a ticket to any place”, what will you call him? The answers are horrible isn’tit? That is how it is to live without a Dream. “Boss why to plan my life. I will just take as it comes. My Dream is not to have a Dream”. These are some of funny lines I have heard from such clueless and direction less people. As a leader in the making, know where you want to reach in Life and work for it backwards. That is -  “Jot down what you want to Achieve in 10 years;then for the next 5 years, then for the next two years, and then the current year. From there, plan yourmonths, weeks and days”. When you live life backwards, You will have a great conviction that what you are doing today, is taking you to where you want to go in Life. That’s the secret of Victorious Living and Legendary Living. If you don’t have a BIG Dream, you will look so big and there are high chances of being self-obsessed and that may eventually lead to being Egoistic. On the other hand when your Dream is so BIG and Huge, you would look so small and tiny that all your problems will also shrink drastically; Leaving you with an attitude of “Playing Big”. Just like the Bus scenario, the person who gets into a bus not knowing where to go will have a stressful journey. He would feel so insecure and be contemplating whether to get down or travel further or switch to another bus. But a person who is clear about his destination and gets into the right bus will have a peaceful journey. He would have plenty of choices like reading a book, taking a nap, listening to music and will enjoy the travel. Relating to this scenario, we are all now travelling in a bus. For some it is a buss called “………..The name of your Company here………..”. If you had got into this bus/job because you dint get any other bus/job, you may be having rough journey and feel so insecure about your future growth. Becoming a non-performer, being okay with missing the targets are symptoms for this. In that case find, out from your Management about the Vision of your Organization. Then have a self-introspection as to where you want to reach in life and make up your mind if you would like to travel in the same bus/job further or define your destination in that long Journey of Growth. Your Dreams and your Organization’s Vision has to go hand in hand. It has to meet somewhere. If that happens, just like the happy and peaceful passenger, will you be able to work with full involvement, being highly creative, producing new results and delivering sheer performance. There are two kinds of People. The one who has a Dream and talk about it all the time. (Barking dogs… Seldom Bite). The other kind of people have a dream and do something about it every day. Keep fuelling your Dream with actions it deserve every day. Keep it burning in you. Reality happens twice -  First in your Head when you Dream and Second when you really make it happen. Never under estimate the Power your Dream. It is highly infectious and Contagious. In this Life, we brought nothing but can leave something behind. A legacy. So what’s yours?

Always remember in life to Dare, Differ and Dream.

“I am doing my best; I have done my best; this is all I could do, but I am not able to breakthrough into this challenge!” – Have you ever been in this space before?  Well, we’re all going through a situation like this in some area of our life. It could be in the area of relating to people, delegating task, maintaining relationships,  balancing work and life, creating a system / process for you business, making your product a big hit, entering new markets, learning a new skill or anything for that matter.   We could be trying so hard but struggling to breakthrough the same. We could be attempting the same thing again and again and missing it. The reason could just probably be “because we are not only attempting the same thing again and again but also putting in the same kind of efforts again and again”. Yes, if you do again what you did before, you will eventually get the same result. And as simple as this explains us; to get new results, you’ve gotta do different things, try different strategies, take different efforts and find creative interventions to produce results. Because “What got you here, will not get you there”! This is a strangely true statement because at some point in time, we will all hit a level where our winning strategies just won’t work anymore. Such situations are like the crucible or turning point of our life. It is a process where one EVOLVES out to BE something that they have never been before.  A new way of living, a new approach, a new perspective and a new you! By Evolving, you break your comfort Zones, do the unusual, try the untried, find new talents and unleash yourself in a much bigger way. To EVOLVE is a process of searching yourself much deeper, focusing on finding your best potentials and keeping them fueled all the time. If EVOLVE was an acronym, then its explanation would be: Energy – Let the energy flow through you. Let it inspire you and everyone around you. Vision – Dream big, share your Vision, Let it be contagious. Optimistic – Stay positive. Believe in good. Leverage – Get the best out of your Skills and talents. Velocity – Aim at achieving more with less time. Energize – Energize the people around you. Believe in Synergy. I wish the year 2016 will be a year you EVOLVE to take on new challenges in Life.

Assets, Money, Balance Sheet, New Clients, New Ventures and the related things drive us so powerfully; that at times we forget to take care of the People in our Lives !

Yes, Creating a legacy for us in this Earth is one thing but earning People in life is another thing! I have always heard a good friend of mine say "Rich is not the Person who has more money; Rich is the Person who has People to stand by him in all situation!". How many of us are rich in that context?

During my early days, i remember by Coach telling me "Touch your subordinate's heart before you can ask for their hand. If you have touched their heart, they'll not just give you their hand but more than that". And we all know this common saying - "Win the Person and not the argument".

So the hidden key to Success, Wealth and Growth is to put People First and really mean it. When your important million dollar client is having an issue and you can help him, you would go all way you can or even more to help him and make him your great friend. The hidden benefit is that you're gonna get huge business orders because you have won their heart genuinely.

Now, just make a list of People whom you think are important in your Life. Starting from your family till your subordinates, superiors, clients and friends. And my request would be to treat everyone of them like a Million Dollar Client. Coz they are capable of adding more value than that to your Life !

This is a funny Question but it has deeper meaning. Who will cry when you die? Just think how many people would celebrate over your death and how many would mourn. Apart from your family and friends, if so many are mourning for you, that's the size of your Powerful Living. When Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam died, the Whole Nation mourned for him. Because he had earned more People than Wealth. He knew People are the real Wealth. What about you ?

You are on your own ! Though this is a profound statement and hard to digest, it is wise to accept the fact that your are on your own. If you research the process of how you were formed, you'll know that you are one successor among a million other competitors - If you know what i mean! And trust me, no one helped for that extra push to gain better swimming power and reach the ovary first :) God's grace is there with you. But if you do not do your part, you are not gonna make it there as the Bible says "A horse is prepared for the day of battle, but victory comes from the LORD". All the people around you can support you and back you up. Your Coach can Coach you; Your Mentor and guide you; Your Well- Wisher can wish you the best; Above all your family can support you and believe in you; But at the end of they day, you have to stand up and step up for what you wanna achieve. As the funny saying goes "No one can eat on your behalf", it is true that no one can take action on your behalf. Even if the world's best Coach is helping you, unless and until you take action, nothing will change. Mahatma Gandhi said "Be the Change you wanna see in the World". Yes, BE that kind of person you desire to be and shake the World. Do not sit and dream all day about what you wanna become. Go out there and make some progress for we know that there are no short cuts for Success. Let the history not say, you were a person with great Dreams; But let the next generation read, that you were a person with great actions !

Make Life Large . . .

Life in itself has a beautiful design to it!  No matter which social class we belong to, we always had the option to Love what we did or to do what we Loved. Most successful people have said that success is not only about getting where you wanted to be; but it is also about enjoying every step you take forward with so much of inspiration and determination. Yes life isn’t about the destination – it is about the Journey. So hold on – Are you enjoying your Journey here??? We (STG) had different themes before - related to Belongingness, Dreams, Purpose and more.  But we’ve noticed that people around us are so busy chasing their life and it doesn’t stop there. Further, we find people being busy with work, no time for family, no time do their extra work, no time for workouts and no time for self. . .  As the famous saying goes “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy”.

Guess what – were okay if you love your profession so much. But a recent survey states that over 70% of employees at work place are “not engaged” or “actively disengaged”. The root cause for this could just be as simple as “not doing what they love” or “not loving what they do”. As you can see, there are two simple steps to celebrate life. -          To find / invent a job you love (Do what you Love) -          Find ways and means to make life interesting. It’s more like taking your first step and making every step you first step! (Love what you Do) Yes – Understand your own passions better. This is not only with your work / career. What about the other things you are passionate about? -          Explore the best places on Earth -          Participate in a marathon -          Take a swim in the Ocean -          Write your own blog regularly -          Read! -          Spend a day with your family -          Celebrate a day with your colleagues -          Find time for your grand parents -          Take part in your friend’s wedding -          Burn those xxx calories everyday -          Finish that Music class -          Dance when you want to -          Stitch your own clothes once -          Try cooking that new dish. Rather just try cooking ! -          And yeah – At least remember to celebrate your Birthday J -          The list goes on  . . . . . . . . . . . . So this 2014 – Pledge to yourself to “Puruse your Passion”. The greatest gift that you can give yourself is to do what you are passionate about. Because . . . Passion is Life, I totally agree Passion is strive for what we believe Passion will make us give our all So Chase your Dreams and stand tall Follow your passion and success will follow you!   When you take up a mission with passion There are no dreams too large No innovation unimaginable No frontiers beyond reach Follow your passion and success will follow you! There is no end and there is no beginning There is only the passion of life Passion is universal humanity Passion is the genesis of genius Follow your passion and success will follow you! Not pursuing your Passion is like consuming slow poison and hoping you’ll be alright. Life is NOW. Success is NOW. Live each moment and live life king size!
